Zato ni čudno, da Kitajci posvečajo toliko pozornosti in denarja Zou Yuezhi 坐月.

Zou Yuezhi- Najbolj kritično poporodno obdobje okrevanja

Nosečnost in porod iz materinega telesa izčrpata kri in qi. Pogoste poporodne težave so:

  • Pomanjkanje Qi utrujenost, pogosto uriniranje, slab apetit, prebavne motnje, inkontinenca

  • Pomanjkanje krvi slaba proizvodnja materinega mleka, izpadanje las, omotica

  • Pomanjkanje jina zaprtje, prekomerno nočno potenje, nespečnost, depresija

  • Šibka odpornost pogosti prehladi in rdečice

  • Slaba prekrvavitev Bolečine v trebuhu, zadrževanje lohije (izcedka iz maternice)

Nasveti za poporodno nego TCM

TCM Postpartum Care Tips - Support Mothers During Confinement

From a TCM perspective, postpartum care is as important as the pregancy care, if not more. With appropriate care, a woman can recharge the energy exhaustion during pregancy and get ready for the demanding newborn care. It helps to preserve and enhance her reproductive health for future children and even for easier experience of menopause and aging. By extension, the mother’s well being also affects her family. No wonder the Chinese are paying so much, both attention and money, into Zou Yuezhi 坐月.

Zou Yuezhi- The Most Critical Postpartum Recovery Period

In direct translation, Zou Yuezhi means “sitting the month”, which is 40 days rest and recovery time in postpartum care in the Chinese custom. Of course, the Chinese are not just asking the mother to just sit and do nothing. The core idea of this period is to allow the mother room and time to recover. Because the mother has spent a lot of energies and resources from her own body to support the growth of the fetus, not to mention the intensive labouring.

During Zou Yuezhi, the woman’s only job is to feed and get to know her baby. Usually her mother or mother in law or both will pass on some newborn care techniques. Nowadays this job is mostly handled by the postnatal caregiver who also prepare nourishing food for the mother.

In the Chinese tradition, the new mother is not advised to get cold or wet or blown by wind, to lift heavy objects, not even reading or watching TV a lot. Anything that in our definition consuming Qi energy or prone to weaken the immunity are strongly discouraged.

Pregnancy and childbirth deplete Blood and Qi from the mother’s body. Common postpartum problems are:

  • Qi deficiency Fatigue, frequent urination, low appetite, indigestion, incontinence

Dry your hair immediately after washing.
